The snow falling outside my window, on the first day of April, inspired this snowshoe post.

Not much to say about this photo except:
Snowshoes + Papa & Grandma's home

Warm fuzzy feelings despite the cold
2 feet of snow covering everything.
I've only been here for 23 of those years.
It feels like I've been here all along.
Getting ready for our snowshoe adventure. Grandma was kind enough to have a photo shoot before we left in search of animal tracks and trees.

Snowshoes on the spillway.
We did NOT take the snowshoes over Papa's foot bridge. For some reason it feels a little risky. :)
Freezing water flowing from the spillway.
Can you see why it would be a bit risky with snowshoes on?
The only tree photo I will post. I took many (apparently I'm a tree fanatic...you should see what happened when I visited a rainforest in Australia), but this is my favorite out of the ones I took in Papa & Grandma's forest. You could see the sap flowing from high up on the tree where the truck split in two. It created lines of sap almost the entire length of the tall tree.
I'm amused by simple things.
Simple yet beautiful.
The back pond looks so cold!
A very nice person lives here.
Can you guess who?
Eventually we had to tear ourselves away from the forest to head back home.
I admit that I dawdled the entire way, stopping to take pictures and breath in the lovely air.
Papa's raspberry bushes still buried in snow.
The snow was so deep that we snowshoed right over the top of the fence into the raspberry patch. I hadn't done that in quite some time. I think the last time must have been on Papa's wooden cross country skis with Corey.
Small pond frozen and snowy. The spillway was starting to melt a few weeks ago.....I only hope this melting trend continues after this early spring snow storm!
Taking a walk in the snow.
Every time I take a photo of this view I can't take my eyes off it.
